Name : Tinkle Author : Amar Chitra Katha Age Group : 6+ Category : Short Stories, All Types Tinkle, by many authors of Amar Chitra Katha, is by far my most favorite short story book. It covers all sorts or stories - Mystery, Comedy, you name it. Everything is in comic form, which makes it very easy even for kids to read. Some of them could be short stories, 4 to 5 pages long, or they may continue in a few more magazines. Speaking of magazines, Tinkle comes in fortnightly magazines, monthly double digests, and in shops, double-double digests and normal digests too. Magazines usually have around 15 stories each, and also have You Be The Detective, Fun-a-thon, Contests, DIYs, Pick your brains, Tinkle Memories, and by answering and sending these to an email address given, kids can actually win cycles, i-pads, headphones and speakers.
Some of the main Tinkle MAGAZINE series (they may be series, but they are all stand alone stories) are Tantri the Mantri, Suppandi, Shikari Shambu, Ina Mina Mynah Mo, Defective Detectives, Wai Knot, Wingstar, Kalia the Crow (now known as Big Baan), Super Weirdos and more. Sadly, some of these have been discontinued.
I always wait for the next issue of Tinkle to come in. I have been reading them since 2016 and have never once been bored. The Tinkle Digests are the ones where there are no series, but other short stories like Folk Tales, Facts and random ones. The can be categorized as Mystery, Comedy, Magic, Science, etc.
This is a book everyone should try because it has so many good parts. Try it out and give your comments.
Amar Chitra Katha also offers books for folk tales, mythology, humor, etc, as well as separate sets of books based on each toon of tinkle. Example - Suppandi, Tantri the Mantri, etc.
